When you have a leather satchel
The Mountain Men wore satchel's and called the "possibles bags" You can buy them at all sorts of places online. They would keep everything you need for your flintlock rifle in there. My Grandpa has a whole Mountain Man room, an awesome mustache and is one of the strongest symbols of masculinity that I know.
